SANCTUARY - JUNE 2018
This five day workshop experience will start Thursday, June 7, 2018 through Tuesday morning, June 12, 2018. The program (June 8 - 11) is being led by sacred clown teacher and therapeutic clown practitioner, Reuben Kay from England. Being introduced to the red nose in 1995, clown practice and playful experiences of others are a continuing inspiration.

Since 2005, he has facilitated workshops (various forms) of clown and he has performed within a wide variety of venues including health care settings and street theatre.

Over the four days of our June program, we will explore the essence of
being human and holding our space, which lies at the heart of sacred
clowning.

Each day, beginning on June 8th, we will have about 6 hours or more of workshop time in which we will explore simplicity and innocence in play, improvisation in clowning and mime, poetry in movement and dance, loving kindness meditation and presence.

We will also include using our breath and simple bodywork exercises to
bring awareness of the now. In this manner, Reuben will introduce
you to the red nose in the tradition of the sacred clown.

During the five days, as a group, we will take care to be mindful even during meal preparation, eating together, fire side conversations, and we will practise mindfully outside in nature whenever possible.

The facility is located on 5 acres of waterfront, nestled in the Upper Gatineau wilderness of Quebec Canada. The time that you spend with us includes access to trails, canoes, swimming, rock hunting, a library full of inspirational books on the subject of clown, and more.

    Ample parking for those with vehicles or those who wish to travel with small campers. Water hook up (non portable) & electricity available; 120V. Commuters are welcome from the Ottawa/Gatineau region; carpooling encouraged.

    June 8, 2018 arrival of participants - 10:00 AM for a self directed day to explore the space. Classes begin - June 9, 2018. End - June 12, 2018. Participant departure is on June 13, 2018.

    Airport pick up and drop off included from the Ottawa International Airport. (YOW) Macdonald Cartier International Airport is ninety minutes from the facility, by car.

    Shared co-ed family bunk room. 4 single beds. 2 mezzanines with double beds. Indoor washroom facilities. Studio Bunks: 6 single beds available in the studio space - outdoor washroom facilities.
  3. Internet Access
    Included; Satellite internet access. Cell phone service is intermittent depending on the service provider.
  4. Meals
    Nutritious home made meals included. Snacks included. Commuters; snacks and lunch are included. Vegan (gluten free) and vegetarian options will be provided.

There is a 2 day option available for those who not available to take the full program. Reuben will be offering the work with sacred clowning and red
nose on the first two days of the program, June 9 and 10, 2018.
